My students were coached to tackle difficult scientific
phenomena by breaking down large problems into
smaller pieces utilizing student thought. Students were
encouraged to develop models and explanations before
learning, during learning, as well as after to observe
progression.

Fall 2013-Spring 2014

Haslett Middle School, Haslett, MI

My 7th grade students were taught meteorology and
basic chemistry through scientific inquiry. I set up
lesson plan sequences that lasted sequential class
periods involving summative and formative
assessments. Volunteering for the schools Science
Olympiad Team was also a rewarding experience.

Fall 2012

Sexton High School, Lansing, MI

Placement involved tutoring students who were falling
behind in course work. The class was Remedial
Science and most of the students needed my extra help
to accomplish the scientific tasks in the class.

Personal Statement:
Students in my class are able to take concepts in science and apply it to real world
problems and phenomena in nature. I hope to inspire students of all performance
levels to reach their full potential in all aspects of life. It is important for me to be
involved with my students through academics, athletics, and the community.
