The purpose of this letter is to support the teaching and leadership skills of Jordan Bettis. Serving
as her university supervisor has professionally acquainted me with Ms. Bettis. Jordan was a
student teacher at Edmunds Academy in Des Moines, Iowa, working with 4th graders. She
completed her student teaching experience while working with K-5 ESL students at
Willowbrook Elementary in Altoona, Iowa.
Jordan has established a reputation as an extremely capable and effective student teacher. She
consistently displays qualities of initiative and professionalism among her peers. Her enthusiasm,
conscientious and genuine concern for education is exemplary. She is an articulate
communicator and was respected highly by her professional peers. Jordan possesses the highest
level of professional commitment and competency in her work with students and colleagues. In
the complexities of todays schools, Jordan is a true treasure and emulates what best practices
represent.
Jordans leadership style is one of modeling behavior and encouraging input from others. She
will use her ability to relate to others and her intelligence to resolve problems. She appears to be
very goal-oriented and has direction for her life.
Ms. Bettiss flexibility in working with students, teachers, administration and the public has
earned her an enviable reputation as a leader who truly cares about education and people.
Without question, she has the academic preparation, the dedication and the "people skills" to
become an outstanding teacher.
In conclusion, I would give my highest recommendation for Jordan Bettis. Every now and then a
young educator comes around who truly makes a difference with students. Jordan is one of those
people. She would definitely be one of my first selections to interview for a teaching position.
