Ms. Bettis completed a practicum experience in a second grade classroom at Hillside Elementary School in West Des Moines, curing the spring semester 2014. She confidently worked with individual students, small groups of students, and my entire class. During her practicum experience, she worked with early, transitional, and fluent readers, limited English speaking children, and children with learning and behavior challenges. She provided the necessary support to enable the students to meet success in all aspects of their school day. Ms. Bettis developed and taught a reading lesson to address my students’ reading needs and provided high- interest and developmentally appropriate instruction and practice experiences.
