Magazine Cover Project

Learning Goal: Students will be able to develop a magazine cover based on a theme of their choice.

(16-20 points)
Level 4 (Advanced)
In addition to all level 3 objectives, the student will be able to
create error-free project
apply 10 or more different tools (document the tools used, how, where, and layer name)
take a screen shot of the layers panel

(11-15 points)
Level 3 (Proficient) In addition to all level 2 objectives, the student will be able to
create cover design following provided theme
apply 8 different tools (document the tools used, how, where, and layer name)
apply good balance (contrast light/dark, scale big/small, images/text)
produce a clean and professional arrangement, using appropriate grammar, spelling,
and punctuation
create with personal images or objects, correct size, and orientation
create magazine title
create a caption explaining cover image
supply 5 article attention-getters including page numbers for each
supply barcode, issue date, and website address
take a screen shot of the layers panel

(6-10 points)
Level 2 (Progressing) In addition to all level 1 objectives, the student will be able to
create magazine cover
apply 6 different tools (document the tools used, how, where, and layer name)
take a screen shot of the layers panel

(0-5 points)
Level 1 (Basic) Student will be able to
create magazine cover
apply 3 different tools (document the tools used, how, where, and layer name)
