IndustrialRevolution

Poverty

Wearecurrentlyinthe second phaseof

the industrial revolution. Things such as
dynamite and telegraph cables are being
putintouse.

AlfredNobelhascreated dynamiteto
make a safer and easier way to blast
through mountains. It is described as the
packaging of nitroglycerin, a highly
poisonous explosive liquid, or other
volatile compounds such as sensitized
ammonium nitrate. It can be transported
easily and,withpropercare,canbesafely
detonated.
Atelegraph cable has beenlaidacross
the atlantic ocean. This cable has been
named the Transatlantic telegraph cable.
It was laid by ship SS Great Eastern
captainedbysirJamesAnderson.

Poverty is currently taking over the

streets of England. Many people are
struggling to find jobs due to the
Industrial Revolution.More thanhalfof
the people in London are living in the
lower class. Something needs to be
done to help poorfamilies get back on
theirfeet.
Childrenarebeing forced toworkto
make money for their families. They
are not getting theright education, and
they
are
living in terrible
conditions.The streets are filthy and
filled with diseases. The sad faces of
underprivileged children roam the
streets.
Sadly,nothing isgettingdonetohelp
out the poor. The rich see them as lazy
people who waste their money.Alot of

Do you say yes or no to child labor?

Before you make your decision,let'stake
a look at the facts. Child labor is
extremelydangerousforchildren.
One especially risky occupationfor kids
are working in the coal mines. Children
who work inthecoalminesareknown as
breaker boys. Their job is picking slate
and other refuse out of the coal. This
would result in cut, broken, or crushed
fingers. Because they are bent over all
day, many children acquire deformities
such as rounded shoulders and bentback.
Breaker boys arealsofrequentlymangled
when they get caught in machinery.
When breaker boys arent getting cut up,
they constantlybreath in dustresultingin
diseaseslikeasthma.
An opposing view may be that child
labor is cheaper and therefore better for
the economy. The truth of the matter is
children should be safe in school
receiving a proper education so they can
help the economy in the future. Only
