Unit 5 ANIMALS

VERTEBRATES ANIMALS
They have got an internal skeleton made up of bones.
They can be classified into 5 groups:
MAMMALS
They are viviparous because they are born from their mothers
womb and they drink their mothers milk.
Most mammals have got fur and legs (bear)
Other have got fins (dolphin) and some have got wing (bat)
BIRDS
They are oviparous because they are born from eggs.
They have got feathers, two legs and two wings but some birds
cannot fly (penguin)
REPTILES
They are oviparous because they are born from eggs.
They have got scales and some of them have got a shell (tortoise).
Most of them have four legs (snakes havent got legs).
AMPHIBIANS
They are oviparous because they are born from eggs.
They have got bare skin, four legs and some of them have got tail
(salamander)
FISH
They are oviparous because they are born from eggs.
They have got scales, a tail and fins to help them swim.

INVERTEBRATES ANIMALS
They havent got an internal skeleton.
All of them are oviparous.
Some of them have got one or two hard shells (crab, clam, snail)
Others have got a bare skin (octopus)

The largest group of invertebrates are the INSECTS

INSECTS
All insects have got head, thorax, abdomen, six legs and two
antennae. Some of them have got wings
