Objective:

We will play sections of Aftershock and Jurassic Park with increased note and rhythm
accuracy.

Materials:
Scores and Parts, pen, planner
Procedures:
1.) Long tone on Bb (play, I count, when everyone stops I stop counting)
a. Emphasize good deep breath on beat 4
2.) Scale up and down (half notes, dont repeat top note), Arpeggio up and down
3.) Long tone on C (tonic of Aftershock scale)
4.) Aftershock
a. Beginning as far as possible (warn about the rhythm change)
b. May have to run reps of 23-31 (explain reps, and tell them to fix something each time,
i.e. fingering, rhythm, where you breathe, etc.)
c. Try to move on to 31 section
5.) Jurassic
a. Review pick-up notes
b. Play as far as possible
c. Break down sections and run reps
d. Put reps into context
