* FIFA is an acronym/abbreviation for Fdration

Internationale de Football Association.

* Governing body of association football (soccer), futsal

and beach soccer.

* Founded May 21, 1904

* Headquartered in Zrich, Switzerland.
* President: Sepp Blatter

* Various allegations of corruption in the news.

* Lower ranked teams do not get a chance to player the
higher ranked teams that often.

* International friendlies do not hold that much

importance.

* Popularity for football seems to center around club

football and not so much for international football.

*Weaknesses

* Financial Leverage
* New Technology
* International Expansion

* India, China and other developing nations.

* Develop academies and training facilities to facilitate the

development of the game.

* Organize more meaningful friendlies in future.

*Opportunities

* Threats of racism are apparent in football

* Threats of corruption because of the large money
involvement.

* Risk of operating internationally.

* Volatile Currencies
* Volatile Costs
* Volatile Revenue

*Threats

* Business Corruption in the form of accepting bribes.

* Many countries want to have the World Cup played in

them. The revenue that an event like this brings into the
country can be very appealing.

* Jrme Valcke, FIFAs secretary general, to accept

payments made in 2008 that investigators believe

amounted to $10 million in bribes from South America.

* Sepp Blatter said Tuesday that he would resign from the

presidency of FIFA in the wake of a corruption inquiry.

*Problem Statement

* Do not accept bribes. Have a fair and unbiased vote for

the host country.

* FIFAs finances should be monitored closer, perhaps

something like Sarbanes-Oxley standards.

* Terminate guilty parties from FIFA, along with charging

them for violating any criminal actions.

*Alternative Solutions

* Be honest and up front.

* Apologize for the wrong doings
* Punish those who are at fault.
* Demonstrate that guidelines have been put in place so that it
will not happen again.

* This will allow you to show your customers that you will not

tolerate this behavior. That you have taken action to stop it,
and correct it immediately. From there you can begin the
process of building your brand image back to where it was.
