High priority students: academically failing 2 or more core classes
6 group sessions, 45 minutes each using SSS curriculum components
1x week, Fridays 6th period during PE
Dates: 1/29, 2/5, 2/19, 2/26, 3/4, 3/11/2016 (started the first week of Quarter 2)
Pre/Post assessment data

Perception Data:
1. After the intervention, 67% of students indicated that they feel close to people at the school (pre-intervention
= 50%, 33% increase).

2. After the intervention, 2/3 of students indicated that they knew ways to calm down when feeling stressed or
nervous. (pre-intervention = 1/3 of students, 50% increase).

3. After the intervention, 83% of students indicated that they had a friend around their age who they could talk
to about their problems. (pre-intervention = 50%, 67% increase).

Post intervention student self-report:

100% of students agreed that they benefited from participating in the group.
83% of students agreed that they valued having others to talk to & get advice from within their grade level.
