Activity Resume

Peer Court- A volunteer based juvenile justice court where students are referred to before
an actual judge. There, students are given a contract they must finish with requirements
such as community service, counseling (if needed), and even after school activities such
as Spy Hop or Boy and Girls Club. I am part of the panel who decides on the
requirements for the student and am a mentor for students as well. As a mentor, I
regularly check up on them, their contract, and build a relationship with them. I began

here my sophomore year of high school.

Upward Bound- This is an early college program. I have attended here since the summer
before my freshman year. Being in this program, every summer we go up to the
University of Utah and live on campus for six weeks. We take classes there which count
for 0.25 of a credit. We also do community service, activities, and learn about the college
experience. During the school year, every Saturday we attended tutoring at the campus
from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There we get help with homework, learn about college life,

get help with FAFSA, scholarships, and also go on college tours.

Tutoring- I tutor students after school in the subjects Math, and Physics.
VASA Dance- VASA is Vietnamese American Student Association, a group at the U. I am

dancing with them at their conference.

Homeless Youth Resource Center- This is a safe place for teens to go to for food, shelter,
and basic needs for survival. I volunteered here over the summer. I cleaned the areas,

organized the clothing, the food, and improved the environment in general.
Road Home- This is a homeless shelter that provides food, shelter, and activities. When I
volunteered here, I helped organize the donations of clothes, foods, and other activity

equipments. I helped clean the area by moping, cleaning the windows, and clearing the

trash.
Utah Food Bank- When I volunteered here, I helped clean the area where the food was
being handled. I organized the foods in their proper shelves and then we packed the foods
in boxes that were to be given out.
