Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice

The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate
his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners,
families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each
learner.
Name of Artifact: Teacher Interview Project
Date: February 25th, 2016
Course: EDUC 101 Introduction to Teaching
Brief Description:
In order to learn about our potential career choice, I observed and interviewed one
educator who is currently employed as a teacher. I discussed questions with my teacher and she
gave responses to those questions. Spending extended time with this teacher allowed me to gain
first-hand knowledge of her teaching style, her beliefs about the students, classroom, school,
community, and the field of education in general.

Rationale:
To document my understanding of InTASC Standard 9, Professional Learning and Ethical
Practice, I have selected to include our Teacher Interview project. My selection exemplifies this
particular standard because the questions that I was required to ask had a lot to do with my
teachers personal beliefs in confidentiality in the classroom and how she includes and supports
the family of the students in her classroom.
