With all the evidence we have gathered and analyzed we decided that Norma Nanny killed

Captain Cornball. Norma Nanny claimed to have cut her hand on glass at the crime scene but
we actually think that she scrambled in the darkness with the knife to kill captain cornball and in
the process she cut herself. The second blood type found on the knife is the same blood type,
type A, as Norma Nanny.
Norma Nanny is in love with Fred Fleckstone and she knows that he is embarrassed by Thomas
Standstone who, we believe, changed his name to Captain Cornball. Norma Nanny is a jealous
person and will do anything it takes to make Fred Fleckstone love her back even if that means
killing his disgraced father in order for Fred to see that Norma is the one he should love.
Sam stubs is the one who wrote the note because his fingerprints match the prints that was on
the pen and the ink matched the ink that came from the pen. Motive leads us to believe that
him and Norma Nanny were working together and he is the one who knocked over the glass in
the darkness to create an alibi for Normas cut. We believe this because it was his fingerprint
that was on the broken glass.
Sam Stubs motive was that Thomas Sandstone(Captain Cornball) had an affair with his mother
and she had a child. Captain Cornball brought that child to an adoption center immediately after
birth. We can see that his motive for wanting Cornball to be dead is because he broke up
Sams family.
We think this because Norma Nanny cut her hand, her finger print matches the one found at the
crime scene, and the DNA sequences match.

The killer might not be Fred Fleckstone because the types of blood found at the crime scene
were type O, and type A. One was Captain Cornballs blood and he is type O. Since the other
blood found was A type blood, Fred Fleckstone can be eliminated because he has type O blood.
Even though his blood was not found at the scene, there is a possibility that Fred Fleckstone
could have not cut or harmed himself during the crime and Norma Nanny could have cut her
hand on Sam Stubs glass during the chaos of the screaming and darkness. Thomas Sandstone
(a mysterious man who is seen to affect a lot of peoples life stories) is Freds father but Thomas
killed Freds aunt and his cousin. Because of this, Fred was extremely embarrassed and
changed his last name to Fleckstone. Freds potential motive could have been to avenge his
family by killing Captain Cornball (Thomas, his dad) and get back at him for the suffering and
embarrassment he caused Fred for all these years.

Captain Cornball changed his name. We are led to believe he changed his name from Thomas
to Captain Cornball. This is because he went to jail and wanted a fresh start. We think he
changed it from Thomas because Thomas is a mysterious man and had a lot of children just like
Captain Cornball.

Chromatography is a process by which you separate a mixture by passing it in solution or

suspension or as a vapor (as in gas chromatography) through a medium in which the
components move at different rates. We used chromatography to determine which pen was
used to write the note left at the scene. For this process we put a small amount of isopropyl
alcohol at the bottom of a small beaker. The next step is to place a strip of chromatography
paper with a dot from each pen found at the crime scene inside the beaker just barely in the
alcohol, with the dot at the bottom. Allow the solvent to move up the paper for at least 10
minutes. You then measure the distance the solvent traveled and the distance the pen ink
traveled.
For the blood typing portion we were determining the blood type of the people at the scene due
to blood samples found. In order to find a person's blood type you put five drops of blood into a
well and one drop of selected antiserum (anti-A or anti-B) to the well and rock to mix. If it reacts
to the serum, gets clumpy, then it is that type.
The fingerprinting procedure starts with obtaining a slide with a fingerprint on it. Then you look
at the print under the light microscope at 4x and 10x power. You have to ask yourself what
features you can recognize from the previous fingerprinting activity we did. We have to think of
our prior knowledge and figure out if its a whorl, loop, arch. Then you have to cover the feather
duster with fluorescent powder by holding the opened powder bottle upright under the feather
duster and gently squeeze the powder bottle several times to cover feathers. You should not
turn the bottle upside down to squeeze powder onto the feather duster. Then you apply power to
the surface of the slide using the feather duster with a light twirling motion. After, gently brush off
the excess powder. Then photograph the print through the amber shield on the microlight, use
the microlight as the light source no flash for 2 seconds. Lift the print off the slide with the lifter
film. Peel off the protective backing and place the sticky side of the lifter film on print then lift it
and fold down on the pre attached lifter card. Attach to the evidence report and label. Indicate
that it is a fluorescent life and you will need a light source to visualize. Lastly compare the print
to prints taken from suspects at the crime scene.
