Activities/Procedure
1. Play YouTube video: The Very Hungry
Caterpillar
2. Discuss sequencing
What it is, key words
Sequence of story read
3. Divide students into 8 groups: the
caterpillar, apples, pears, plums,
strawberries, oranges, too much (junk)
food, and green leaf.
4. Each group gets clip art images to
represent their part in the story.
5. Give groups times to create a
dance/action to do for their part in the
story.
6. As their part is said or sang, each
group must do the action.
7. Teach the tune of Today is Monday
and gradually apply the words of the
Caterpillar version to the song as the
class is ready for them.
8. Put song and actions together!
