When writing my logical argument, my goal was to try to persuade my audience to pick

the side that I was on. While writing this paper, I used the WPA outcome statements to help with
my argument. The outcomes that I incorporated in my paper was rhetorical knowledge, critical
thinking, reading, and composing, processes, and knowledge of convention.
The first outcome that I incorporated throughout my logical argument was rhetorical
knowledge. I made sure to develop facility in responding to a variety of situations and contexts. I
used different varieties by also talking briefly about my counter argument. I also used a varieties
of shifts in my tone throughout the paper. Throughout the logical argument, I kept the paper very
formal and did not try to convince my audience by stating my opinion. I also addressed my
paper to a range of audiences.
Also throughout the process of writing my logical argument, I used critical thinking,
reading and composing. During the research process of my paper, I had to read a variety of
texts and had to point out what was different and the same about those texts. I found certain
texts that were about my argument and also about my counter argument. Having the different
varieties of text helped me create a strong paper that had a strong argument. Also, I had to
locate and evaluate primary and secondary sources. Most of the sources that I used were web
articles.
During my logical argument I also used the outcome statement, processes. When I
wrote this paper, I made sure to use multiple drafts to help make my paper stronger. I also
listened to the feedback of my peers that peer reviewed my paper. Taking their constructive
criticism helped my paper out a lot. Lastly, I reflected on the development of my writing and I
watched how the practices that I used made my paper look better.
Last but not least, I used knowledge of conventions throughout my logical argument. I
did this, by checking my spelling, grammar, and punctuation while constructing the paper. I also
practiced citations by applying specific pieces throughout the argument that I thought were
important. All four parts of the WPA outcome statements helped me with my final paper.
