MOONEY ATTACKS DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL

FRONTRUNNER
Republican Congressman Alex Mooney has inserted himself into the Democratic
Congressional primary election by attacking frontrunner Mark Hunt. Mooney has been
robo-calling constituents and sending direct mail pieces with lies about Hunt and
insulting hardworking West Virginians.
Hunt says Mooney is an absentee Congressman who knows constituents have lost faith in
him.
Alex Mooney hoodwinked voters in the last election into believing he would represent
them and their interests, said Hunt. As we all know, Mooney is an absentee
congressman who doesnt share the values we true West Virginians hold dear. Mooney
isnt from West Virginia so he doesnt know anything about our values, our work ethic or
our Mountaineer pride.
Mooney started attacking Hunt this week saying hes a liberal Democrat who sides with
President Obama and takes a swipe at labor unions for endorsing Hunt. Hunt says those
types of lies reek of desperation.
I have absolutely no ties to President Obama, said Hunt. I never campaigned for him
or ever donated once cent to him. Alex Mooney has absolutely no record to stand on so
hes attacking me, the Democratic frontrunner. As for my union endorsements; Im

honored to be endorsed by hardworking West Virginians and vow to continue fighting for
them in Washington.
Recent polling by the Hunt campaign shows Mark with a solid lead over his four
opponents. Hunt says given the level of attacks on him, GOP polling apparently confirms
that he is the presumptive Democratic nominee. Hunt says Mooney should worry about
his own primary election.
Alex Mooney has an opponent in the May 10th primary. He should worry about getting
out of the primary first before he starts attacking me. Its just a desperate move by a
carpetbagger who knows hes let West Virginians down with his absentee representation.
