What aspects of your internship could be adjusted to make it more valuable to you? *
Iwishwehadmoretimetodiscussthechildrenordifferenttherapeutic
interventionswiththestaff.Oneofmyfavoritetimesduringtheweekis
whenIgettositandlistentothetherapistbrainstormvariouswaysto
continuetohelpachild.Ilearnsomuchfromtheirprofessional
conversationsandopinions.Itwouldbeniceifthistimecouldbemore
consistent,suchasinastaffmeetingsetting.DreamCatchercurrently
doesnotholdanystaffmeetings.Toadjustthisneed,Icancontinueto
activelyseekoutmoreopportunitiestoaskquestionsinthefuture.
How have you applied course and theoretical knowledge in this internship? *
Wow,howhaveInot?EverythingI'velearnedaboutfamilysystems
canbeseensoclearlyattheclinic.Youlearnsomuchaboutachild
basedontheirfamilysystemandunderstandingofBronfenbrenner's
model.Ialsohavereallybeenabletoapplymyknowledgefrommy
hospitalizedchildandfamilycourse,whenworkingwithchildrenwho
aresignificantlymedicallyfragile.Ourinternshipprojectisevena
manifestationofourknowledgeofdevelopmentalneedsandseeksto
scaffoldthesechildrentogreaterdevelopmentwithoursocialstories.

interestedinthehealthcarefieldatall.It'sgreatexposuretoand
experiencewithchildrenwithsuchawiderangeofneeds.Fieldsthat
wouldespeciallybenefitwouldbespeechtherapy,childlife,
occupationaltherapy,physicaltherapyorfamilieswithspecialneeds
children.
