Dear Mr. Principal,
One of my main goals in life and passions has always been to teach. The purpose of this letter is
to inform you that I want to be the person that fills in the position for special education teacher,
which is listed on episd.org. I have a great experience as a special education teacher, and I
believe I have all the qualifications to take over the position. The job description only lists a few
of the qualifications, and I believe that I have more than whats listed on the site. I would like
for you to please take a look at my attached resume and consider me for the position.

I have been around students with special needs through all my college course work. I have great
skills that will be useful in the job. One of the most important skills to consider is that I have a
great amount of patience. This is a really important skill because I know that it is required every
single second you are in the classroom. Im a very compassionate person and I will make sure
that I give all my future students the push and confidence that they deserve. I am very detail
oriented so Im sure to follow all required guidelines listed by the district in order for student
success. I have done many observations and spent large amounts of hours in classrooms with
students who have special needs. I understand that we are in a very diverse city and I have all
the skills needed to teach children from different cultures, and use all the techniques that I have

learned in the classroom. I have learned many skills in order for ELL students to succeed in the
classroom. Being that we are in a border city I know that I will have students that are ELLs and
I am ready to use my skills for their future success. I understand that we are in a military town
and a border town so I will expect to have students that have experienced war from near and far
away. This is something that will affect my students and I am ready to be there, listen and show
all my support towards any situation they may be facing
