AT&T IT CAN WAIT TOUR AT VIRGINIA TECH


The Tour
AT&T It Can Wait tour coming to Virginia Tech Thursday, March 3, 2016
Tour will begin at Squires Student Center 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the It Can Wait
Driving Simulator will be available to students at Squires during time above
Tim McGraw concert 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. will conclude the event and is free to
Virginia Tech students
Students will be able to sign Keep your eyes on the road, not your phone pledge
at both events and receive information on downloading AT&T DriveMode App
Other apps created for smartphones or devices with 3G, 4G or LTE access by
AT&T through It Can Wait campaign: Safely Go App and It Can Wait
Virtual Reality App
These applications are specifically designed to lessen distractions while driving
and will automatically silence notifications while driving when they are turned on
The Campaign
Over 7 million people, 1,500 organizations and 50,000 individuals have taken the
pledge
A study conducted by AT&T from automobile crash data in Illinois, Texas and
Florida revealed a positive correlation between the It Can Wait campaign
activity and a decrease in automobile crashes
The statistics from the study revealed a projected reduction in the amount of
automobile crashes caused by texting while driving, meaning there is potential to
decrease crashes of this type
