Progressivism
This is the philosophy that focuses more on the student than
the teacher. It is based off of personal experiences. It allows
the student to learn along with what happens currently more
so than strictly what the teacher has set up for them.

I learned that I care more about the student individually than to

follow a standard curriculum. I agree on students learning along with
current things they face. They would grow more as a person.
The philosophy weakest for me was behaviorism. It focuses on
students learning exactly how they are told and expected to behave
how they are told. I see why I was weakest in this philosophy as I
believe every is so different and can not be made to learn specific
things that keep them at a certain level instead of their full potential.
In all my years in school I was lucky enough to have teachers who
really individually cared for each student. This has influenced me
today to want to do the same. I would like to be sure I focus on each
student individually and let them learn from what they know is
happening presently. It gives them space to grow in all forms.
Clark County schools would be supportive of this philosophy because
I do see care for the students. The fact that some standardized tests
have been eliminated helps this as well because their expectations
should not be placed on one test. Every student is different, learns in
different ways, and experiences many different things.
