    studiedK12SpecialEducation.AftertwoyearsofamanagementpositionwithBath
    andBodyWorks,itwastimetoputmyheartbackintowhatIloved!Ibeganmy
    teachingcareerinWashingtonCountyPublicSchoolsin2007.Iwashiredasaspecial
    educationcasemanagertobesplitbetweenMaugansvilleElementaryandPotomac
    HeightsElementary.Thefollowingyear,IwasofferedtobehalftimewiththeBirth
    throughFiveProgramandPotomacHeights.Afterseveralyearsandredistricting,Iwas
    placedatFunkstownEarlyChildhoodCenteraswellastheBirththroughFiveProgram.
    Itwasduringthosetwoyearsthatmypassionforearlychildhoodbecameobvious.With
    BirththroughFivecontinuingtogrowwithhigherneedsinourgrowingcommunity,I
    wasofficiallyplacedin2013asthefulltimespecialeducationcasemanagerfor35year
    old's.
    WithintheB5programandasaspecialeducationcasemanager,Ivetakenon
    moresharedleadershiprolesandresponsibilities.IdecidedtopursuemyEducational
    Leadershipcertificatetofurthermyeducationandallowforafutureinaspecial
    educationleadershipposition.Overthepasttwoyears,Ivecompiledavarietyof
    experiencesthathavehelpedmegrowasanearlyeducator,casemanagerandfuture
    leader.Throughthecoachingprocess,Ivedevelopedlifelongskillsthatassistmeinmy
    dailyworkwithotherprofessionals.TheLeadershipteamhasprovidedmean

    opportunitytocollaboratewithafocusedgroupofprofessionalsintheB5programto
    facilitatechangewithintheprogram.
