Rugaciunea Sfantului Francisc din Assisi

Doamne, fa din mine unealta Pacii Tale

Acolo unde este ura s-aduc iubire,
Acolo unde este ofensa s-aduc iertare,
Acolo unde este dezbinare s-aduc unire,
Acolo unde este greseala s-aduc adevar,
Acolo unde este neincredere s-aduc credinta,
Acolo unde este disperare s-aduc speranta,
Acolo unde este intuneric s-aduc lumina ta,

Acolo unde este tristete s-aduc bucurie.

O, Stapane, nu te-am cautat atat

Spre a fi consolat... cat pentru a consola,
Spre a fi inteles... cat pentru a intelege,
Spre a fi iubit... cat pentru a iubi.

Deoarece:

Dand... primesti,
Pierzand... gasesti,
Iertand... esti iertat,
Murind... reinvii la viata eterna!

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born into Eternal Life.
