TERM 2 TEAM NEWSLETTER

MAY 2016

Team Quest
Term Two 2016!
We start back into term 2 in Team
Quest welcoming three new names
to the team!
Two are familiar faces we
congratulate Alice McKessar (nee
Pilgrim) and Lauren Moir (nee
Thomas) on their wedding days
during the holidays. We hope they
enjoyed the two weeks break to
celebrate their special days.
In HB36 we welcome Bridget Roberts
to the team. Bridget is replacing
Caitlin Buttle who is on leave until the
end of the year, off on an overseas
adventure. We look forward to many
photo updates from Caitlin, and
having Bridget join our team.
The big excitement for the children
this term is our team camp to
Woodend Christian Camp in week 3.
Some more information will be
coming out this week including a gear
list.
Please have a read of this newsletter
to see what we are up to for the
term. We are looking forward to the
term ahead.
Kind regards,
Team Quest teachers

School Cross Country

Wednesday 4 May
(Week 1!)

Term Two Curriculum

Literacy: We continue our writing focus for the year in persuasive
writing. We will also be doing a narrative writing unit based around
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Our reading programme will
link closely with our writing when possible, and at times it will also
be integrated into other learning areas. Spelling instruction
continues daily.
Numeracy: In the first part of the term we will be working in
interchange groups focussing on multiplication and division
strategies. Our strand maths later in the term will cover algebra.
The Arts: We will be getting creative and developing our learning
in drama. The Arts will be linked into our inquiry topic for the term.
P.E/Sport: Our school cross country is on Wednesday week 1.
After this we are getting into our sport interchange with Halswell
and Rolleston schools every Tuesday during the term (except
week 3 due to camp).
Inquiry: We continue our topic of Connect 4 which looks at
connecting ourselves to the wider world. This terms big question
is: What is at the heart of a culture? We will be looking into
different cultures from throughout the continents.

each term for their home learning. Please assist your child in their
organisation to meet their required deadline.

Uniform and Footwear

Please ensure that children are keeping to our uniform standards. If
you are unsure then please check the website for details of the
winter uniform. A plain black jacket is now an option to wear
when outside in the playground. The children are active daily and
are welcome to bring a change of footwear, however must wear
appropriate black shoes at all other times. A Clearview sports
top is now available for purchase to wear as an option for PE and
when representing the school.
