Shamefest 2015

The door of the Bedroom flung open in a blaze of fury. A thick mist engulfed the whole
room leaving everything a blur for those that dare look inside. A curious and frightened family
peaked inside to await the results. Emerging from the mist they see their eldest son wielding a
playstation4 controller. Scott was obviously in a state infuriation. All around the family could
identify the clues as to what had happened. The room almost looked as if a bomb had gone off
inside of it. The broken hangars, his plastic dresser smashed in, pillows and sheets scattered on
the floor, and a hole in the wall were all signals that something had happened to cause this. Scott
was yelling at the top of his lungs; forcing anyone near him to cover their ears in fear that they
would lose their hearing. Somehow through all of the noise the family could make out the subtle
background sound of an announcer screaming in amazement, Oh my goodness, the Eagles have
made the greatest return in history. The brief moment that Scott goes silent because of noticing
his family staring him down in confusion and dismay, they hear it. They all hear the virtual
crowd roaring in excitement as if the second coming of Jesus was upon us. Replays of final play
plagued Scott as they played over and over constantly reminding him of his failure. The failure
that costed him winning the football game that would only grant him bragging rights until he
played again. In eyes of his family, the game meant nothing, but in the eyes of Scott the game
had the significance of any another game played in the real world. Scotts family didnt

understand the situation that he. They didnt understand the drive that Scott had to win. Even if it
was virtual or not Scott still wanted to prove himself as a winner. Scotts family did not
understand his method of thinking. His family branded him as someone that got angry over
things that are artificial and do not matter. Scotts family was furious. His family only looked at
the situation as the destruction of real world things because of something that happened in the
virtual world. Believing that Scott overreacted to the situation. Scotts family branded with the
constant reminder of his sin, Anger. They took his middle name and changed it from safer to
Ambrose to remind him of his sin.
