Organizing the drill:

Diagram A

Place two 7m x 7m zones on

opposite ends of a 30m x 20m
field.
Place two players in each 7m x
7m zone as shown in the diagram
[Players X(i), X(ii), X(iii) and X(iv)].
Player X(i) starts with the ball.

Practising the drill:

Diagram B

Player X(i) chips the ball in the air

to the opposite end of the field.
He must be accurate and land the
ball within the zone that has been
set up.

Player X(iii) then has one touch to

control the ball and ensure the ball
stays within the 7m x 7m zone.

The drill continues like this for

10 minutes.

Diagram C

Player X(iv) must immediately use

player X(iii)s one-touch control
that keeps the ball within the zone
and, with one touch as well, chip
the ball back across the field into
the 7m x 7m zone to score a
point.
Player X(ii) now receives the ball
and controls the ball with one
touch for player X(i) to chip the ball
back across the field into the 7m x
7m zone, also with one touch.

You can only score a point if the

ball is chipped and lands within
the 7m x 7m zone.
If a player tries to control the
ball and it goes out of the zone
before his partner chips the ball,
you do not as a team have the
opportunity to score a point
when chipping the ball across
the field.
The goal is to keep close control
with one touch, followed by an
accurate chip pass.
