havepredictedthatthesonofaglovemakerfromasmalltowninthe
Midlandswouldbecomethegreatestandmostinternationally
renownedwriterinhistory,there'snowaytoknowthat'thenext
Shakespeare'isn'talreadyworkingawaysomewhere.HoweverIthink
thechancesarequitesmall.Literatureisnolongerascentralto
people'slivesasithasbeenovermuchofthelastfourhundredyears.
Atthesametime.therearemorepeoplewritingmorewordsnowthan
everbeforesothechancesofonepersonhavingthekindofimpact
Shakespearedidaremuchsmaller.Alsothingslikemusic,film,TV
andothermediahavetakenoverthepositioninpeople'slivesso
evenifShakespearewerealivetodayhemightnotbewritingplaysor
poetry!
