Course Syllabus for Semester 1 / 2016-2017


Course Objectives:
To encourage children to be active and constructive in their own learning, using
English as a tool to do things and to create personally significant meaning.
To integrate learning English with other areas of learning at primary school.
To help children learn how to learn and to encourage them to begin to become
responsible, independent, reflective learners.
To promote an atmosphere of co-operation and collaboration in class.

Unit 1 Friends Old and New


Over the course of this unit students will be working on the
unit titled Friends Old and New During this unit students
will learn to describe people, emotions and learn about
friendships. They will also learn to use comparative
adjectives.

Over the course of the next three weeks students will be


working on the unit titled Its About Time. During this unit
students will learn about chores, schedules and free-time
activities. They will also learn to talk about common weekend
activities.

Over the course of the next three weeks students will be
working on the unit titled At the Worlds Table. During this
unit students will learn to talk about foods from around the
world. They will learn how to use a menu and practice
ordering food. The students will also lean the importance of
the Food Pyramid.
Writing CAT Week 8
Unit 4 Take Care
Over the course of the next three weeks students will be
working on the unit titled Take Care. During this unit
students will learn to talk about illnesses, accidents and safety.
They will also learn how to stay healthy and about different
exercises. They will also learn to use should and shouldnt.
