Bangkok Christian College

Intensive English Program

Dear Parents and Students,

My name is Alejandro Maldonado but please call me Alex. I will be your sons IEP teacher for
the 2015 school year. I am 33 years young and come from the United States. I studied at the
University of Texas and graduated from St. Edwards University with a focus in English and
Philosophy. After graduating I traveled throughout my home country for about a year.
Afterwards, I wanted to see more of the world, so I went to go live and teach English in Mexico,
Central America, Taiwan, Japan, and now Thailand. I like to travel, watch sporting events,
listening to music, and trying new foods.
I have gained invaluable experience from teaching in various cultures, although I have fallen in
love with South-East Asia and plan to be here for a long time. My next step in my professional
career is to attain a post-graduate degree to further my teaching development. I am excited to
begin my first year at Bangkok Christian College and to develop a relationship with your son in
order to foster an interest for learning the English language. I can assure you that I will always be
available for your sons needs and will give my full effort and expertise to helping your son
overcome any challenges and improve his English skills.
In order to cover all the course material there will be rules laid out to ensure every student gets
the most from each lesson. Although students must maintain discipline, I like to include any of
their interests or popular culture so the students can relate English to their world. As a parent, I
would kindly ask for your help to check that they have all their materials and have completed all
their assignments. Together we can ensure your child reaches his full potential.
Please feel free to come to my room (IEP 36) anytime if you have any questions or if you simply
would like to talk about your sons progress. You can also contact me at maldoalex@gmail.com.
I look forward to meeting all of you and to contributing to a successful school year for son.
Yours Sincerely,
Alex Maldonado
