It is my pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Megan Newhouse. Ms.
Newhouse has been a student teacher at Byron Center Charter School for the spring, 2016
semester. During this time, she has been teaching Spanish and mathematics to our Middle and
High School students.
Ms. Newhouse is to be commended for her professionalism, concern for her students, and
quality of instruction. She plans well with both of her mentor teachers and works hard at being
organized. She is prepared for class every day, and is able to seamlessly transition from each
subject and grade level.
I have found Ms. Newhouse to be both imaginative and adaptive in her lesson plans. She has
made an outstanding effort to vary course material and present it in ways. One example of this
is her use of our class iPads at every opportunity. Her inventive lesson plans and ability to build
meaningful relationships with her students has earned the respect of her peers and students
alike. She deeply cares about her students and they look to her for approval and guidance.
As an educator for over a decade, and one who is profoundly interested in developing high
quality teachers, I strongly endorse Ms. Newhouse. She has the intellect, passion, and
communicative skills to be an outstanding teacher. I recommend her without reservation,
knowing that she is eminently worthy of top consideration in the education profession.
