Avalon in
6th grade
was weird.
And going
though her
scene

Its kind of embarrassing.

Avalon had a hard time

Avalon
had been homeschooled
most
of herschool
life, and this was a big
adjusting
to
the
change. She hated it. She really hated it.
setting.
The environment was cold, clinical, and very shaming, and this was
before Avalon knew the full extent of modern sexism, so she treated it
as normal. Unfair, but normal.
Magee Middle School was ghetto. Like seriously. Fights broke out, armed
gunman scares, marijuana, the list goes on.

Towards
the end
of the
year.
Avalon became
depressed.

Avalon had no friends and her

grades were also dropping, she
felt out of place, alone.

This was before

avalon was a
Unicorn QUEEN.
She was too shy and nerdy at this point to really stand up for herself,
which would have made her life better really.

magees crap.
After looking at multiple schools,
Avalon and her Parents, the Lord
and Lady Ronson, decided on a
humble school to send their
daughter to, the newly
established PFFS Downtown.

Avalon honestly doesnt remember that much

from seventh grade, but three people stand
out. Paloma Paz
Kassandra Howard
Angelique Ray
Paloma turned out to be
exactly what I expected
her to be, outgoing, a
tumblr girl, pretty basic,
but awesome.

Kassandra wasnt as outgoing as I

expected when I first saw her. She
seemed like a tomboy, someone
popular, with both boys and girls, and
I was accurate with that.

gonna be popular and
mean and shed bully
me. I was wrong.

When i first meet you i thought

you were so beautiful and going
to be mean and all popular.
Though you turned out to be the
nicest funniest person i have met.
I love her and she is one of my
best friends. I'm going to miss
you when you leave.

So when I first met Avalon she

approached me and Anga in the
library, I thought she was going to be
a Regina George, nice to your face
but kill you when you turn your back.
I was SO wrong. She is funny, quirky,
confident, crazy and beautiful in
every way. She is one of my best
friends, and I dont know what I
would do without her to help push
me through problems and school
work. Avalon is without a doubt a
Unicorn Queen she was meant to
be.

It was at the library when I first

actually talked to Avalon, she
seemed very enthusiastic, and I
was right. I thought she was
going to be, (what Kassandra
said) a Regina George, but she
wasn't. She is down to earth and
awesome. I remember at
lunch,Kassandra, Avalon and I
were all sitting with each other
and Avalon made this dolphin
noise and it made me laugh so
hard. Avalon is the Queen of all
unicorns and she's the best
unicorn I met.

Avalon
On my first day of school, I have to admit that I
overcompensated. I was terrified that this was going to
be a horrible school filled with horrible people, so I
dressed in a pink crop top, overdid my makeup, and wore
a miniskirt in an attempt to intimidate people. Truly, I
only remember one or two details from that day, but I
have to say that I am honestly embarrassed looking back,
at my past first-day-of-school outfits.
I feel that you can honestly look at my style and

At the beginning of the year, it seemed like a summer camp compared
to Magee, but that was the first couple of days. We fell into a routine
after about a week or two, and the honeymoon period ended.

PFFS was
very
different
We discussed topics in depth, like
we never would have at Magee,
and she loves that.

Sometimes school could get

boring, but overall it was
amazing, interesting, and
completely fascinating.

The year ended and we

got off to
a good
start
Avalon saw friends she had not
seen and barely spoken to all
summer, and she had missed
them dearly.

Kassandra, Angelique, Paloma,

and Avalon strengthened their
friendship over the 8th grade
year, and now theyre stronger
than ever.

MYSTERY COMPANY was a band the girls started midway through the year, then sort of
abandoned toward the end (mainly because Avalon suffered from vocal nodules). It was
important though, it brought them together and worked their minds. It was awesome, and it
led to the birth of Avalons current persona, Unicorn Queen.

PFFS has helped avalon

Avalon
has become
more focused and contributes a lot more to class
Grow
academically
than before, and Avalon feels more confident in math, and in life. Avalon
feels better about herself than ever before.

PFFS is a
safe space
Avalon can feel awesome, without
needing validation, because she
knows how amazing she is.
Avalon can dance to the beat of
her own drum, and feel safe, like
her feet are landing on steady
ground. Avalon can chase after
her dreams and be unafraid and
unapologetic.

have improved drastically(when

Avalon feels like shes really

doing better in class, just in
general, and it makes her
proud. She feels like shes
going back to her roots, and
really re-becoming an
academic.

Avalon feels like this is her year. A
year of adventure, and new
experiences, old friends, new
friends, new stories, old
memories. She hopes to leave
Paulo a butterfly, for Paulo has
truly helped her transform.
PFFS has truly helped Avalon
become herself and create and
explore new ways of self
expression. She loves that.
