ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Weve seen seven consecutive years of
record enrollment, while strengthening
our commitment to diversity and to firstgeneration students 25 percent of our
students, one-in-four, are the first in their
families to go to college. Our land-grant
heritage and commitment to access are still
defining characteristics of our university.

Subject: Data
Given all the discussion out there about conference changes, I wanted to share some of the analysis we've been doing
on how CSU stacks up. Some interesting stuff in here that could be worth sharing with some of your folks who have
asked about this. For fun yesterday we also checked out how we stack up against some specific institutions (below). Our
fund raising and alumni engagement numbers really stand out.

vibrant regions in the country. Ram Athletics is part of this drive on the move, on the rise, and
headed to even greater success in the years ahead.
COMPETITIVE COMMITMENT
We have committed to playing by the same rules
instituted by the Power 5 conferences providing
all allowable amenities and benets for studentathletes, including paying the full cost of attendance.
Our University commitment to Athletics has
increased 45.7% in the past five years, from $25.35
million in FY10 to $36.94 million in FY14, with an
additional $1.5 million in support expected for FY16 for
student scholarships, nutrition, team travel, and more.
Total University commitment to Rams football has
increased 47.4% in five years, from $8.17 million to
$12.04 million in FY14.
Colorado State ranked among the top-performing
athletic programs in the country through the rst half
of the 2014-15 academic year in the Leareld Sports
Directors Cup fall standings with the third-highest
ranking for FBS non-Power 5 schools.
WINNING PROGRAMS
CSU has a winning record in football against Power 5
conferences in the last 3 years.
Quarterback Garrett Grayson was named a Heisman
Trophy aspirant after breaking nearly every school record
for passing and total offense, and wide receiver Rashard
Higgins (a sophomore) was a national nalist for the Fred
Biletniko Award after leading the nation in receiving yards
and touchdowns. Higgins was the only consensus firstteam All-American from a non-Power 5 conference.
We have produced 14 NFL draft picks since 2000 and
expect to have several more in the 2015 draft.
We qualied for our 12th bowl game in 21 years while
producing numerous All-Americans and Academic AllAmericans.
COMPETITIVE FACILITIES
With the recently approved 41,200 capacity on-campus
stadium, Colorado State has in process, or has already built,
more than a quarter of a billion dollars in athletic facilities
upgrades in just the past few years.
We spent $11.5 million in the last three years expanding,
renovating, and branding Moby Arena, the primary
competition space for volleyball and both basketball programs
and training and conditioning space for all student-athletes.
The addition of the new stadium will open up expanded space
in Moby Arena for additional sports and training.
The $7 million, 16,000-square-feet Anderson Academic
Training Center opened in 2009 is a centerpiece of CSUs
commitment to student-athletes, with a state-of-the-art
weight room, strength and conditioning oces, a computer
lab, study areas and a nutrition center.
CSUs $13 million, LEED-Gold certied, 66,267-square foot
Indoor Practice Facility is designed for use by multiple sports.

top 10 newspapers nationally for Sunday circulation. This
thriving metro area includes 3 million people, $158 billion in
