Dear Mr. Smith:
I am applying for an Audit Intern position that I recently found on indeed.com. The Job Code is
FS_FS208. I can honestly say that I am excited just to even apply for a position with CBIZ &
MHM because as a student of Accounting it is of great interest to me to experience the hiring
process of a national level accounting firm. I would be even more excited if I were awarded this
intern position! I have heard horror stories from people who went to work for the Big 4 and so
have made an effort to stay away from those firms. I truly look forward to bragging about my
work-life to accountants from the Big 4 as I hear that the culture at CBIZ & MHM is much more
personal and friendly.
With my hiring, I will bring knowledge and work ethic that I developed and continue to refine at
California State University, Northridge. As a junior working towards a B.S. in Accountancy, I
constantly discover new ways to push myself in numerous accounting related skills, such as
using Microsoft Office software (especially Excel and Word), attaining deeper understandings of
GAAP and GAAS rules, improving verbal and non-verbal communication between teammembers and authority figures alike, and multi-tasking. Although work ethic is something that is
difficult to see or quantify, I believe that my attached resume will give a strong indication to that
fact that I love to work. I have maintained numerous jobs since I was 16 years old and have
developed new facets of work ethic with each. I am no stranger to 12-hour workdays and would
be happy to work those kinds of hours when needed as an intern at CBIZ & MHM.
I am on course to graduate in June of 2017, at which time I would be available to work full-time
with CBIZ & MHM. As of now, I would be happy to work when not going to class and am
willing to adjust my school schedule to part-time to accommodate any necessary work days or
hours that the firm will need from me. I hope I will be given the opportunity to allow my
knowledge and work ethic to shine, and eagerly look forward to an interview. I can make myself
