Beginnings and Endings

Pass around a smile, a hand shake, a high five, hold hands
and pass a squeeze
Sing a song
Say a chant
Roll a ball and say a greeting: hello, good morning, hi
Main Sessions
English Bear- use a character who only understands
English for children to talk to and learn about in their circle
time sessions.
English Bear book- a book about the life of English Bear to
share at circletime.
Use a feely bag of objects for playing games to build
vocabulary. Use a chant with the objects:
Theres a smelly soap, theres a smelly soap, theres a
smelly soap in the feeling bag. Children could say, here
you are thank you as objects are passed.
Find out about childrens likes and dislikes on the topics
they are learning about, for example food or animals.
You could use a special object for circletime. The children
have to hold the special object if they want to speak. It
might be a shell, an ornament, or a class toy. You might
want to use pictures showing good behaviour to show
children how to sit, listen and look at circletime.
