MISTAKEN IDENTITY

Creating a Positive ID

Heb.11:23-27
By faith Moses parents hid him for three months after he
was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and
they were not afraid of the kings edict. By faith Moses,
when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of
Pharaohs daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with
the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures
of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of
greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was
looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not
fearing the kings anger; he persevered because he saw
him who is invisible.

We are all to some degree a product of our

pastbut we are not a prisoner of it.

Moses priorities:
1. Fulfilling Gods purpose is better than popularity
2. Loving Gods people is better than pleasure
3. Having Gods peace is better than possessions
Moses gave up the worlds measure, treasure,
and pleasure to simply Be who God made him
and DO what God called him to do.

Moses gave up what most of us spend our

entire lives trying to get!
Yes, everything else is worthless when
compared with the infinite value of
knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake
I have discarded everything else, counting
it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ
and become one with him. Phil 3:8

Whats your Egypt? Destiny gives you the ability to
persevere. You will be tempted to quit..

Hebrews 12:1-3 (Message)

Do you see what this meansall these pioneers who blazed the
way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means wed better get
on with it. Strip down, start runningand never quit! No extra
spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both
began and finished this race were in. Study how he did it.
Because he never lost sight of where he was headedthat
exhilarating finish in and with Godhe could put up with
anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now hes
there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find
yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item
by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will
shoot adrenaline into your souls!
