Task A:
Song:
Meaning:
Content-
the story is about someone who has been hurt by someone close
(possibly a partner) and that another person is coming behind them to pick
them up and essentially taking care of them.
Imagery-
Narrative-
the story of the song begins with a man talking to a woman and
seeing that she is hurt and trying to explain to her that with him she would
never have to worry about anything that has happened to her will ever
happen again, that hed never leave or hurt her.
Duration-
Pace-
the song is an old blues jazz song so the pass is very slow with a
steady beat.
Performers style-

Task B:
As there is no video for this song, I have a blank canvas to create whatever I
want. How I see the song, is that the person in the video never is seen fully
with either their head turned or a shot of half of their body. I also like the idea
of using a river where the water is choppy and a walk way along the water. I
also intend to use a few POV shots of me walking and traffic with the camera
looking around. As the song is old, I want to my video to have a noir effect by
having the video in black and white which I think bring a bit of an antique feel
to a modern video. I also want to take pieces from one of the artists live
shows and put them in as cutaways.
Task C:
For my music video I used one main spot at the at the Quay at the
River Foyle, where there is a memorial bench. I also have my POV footage
while Im walking down the Strand Rd. I also have shots of St. Columbs park
and Magee University.

had to work with a camera I hadnt used before and I had to become
familiar with the camera quickly to use it within a time slot. I used the
quay area of the city as I liked the idea of black and white film on
choppy water in the River Foyle. But there was a bit of difficulty as it
was early in the afternoon and many people walk along the walkway,
so I had to shoot the video in-between people passing by. This was
especially hard as I had a 30 second scene of sitting on a bench and
walking to the railings then down the quay without anyone in the
distance. I worked around these problems but it did take me longer to
shoot because I had to wait for a long time on a cold afternoon. I found
the Sony camera I was using to be very comfortable when filming my
POV shots which was fortunate for me.
From there I went on to edit my video, where I found a bit of a problem
trying to get the videos from the SD card to the Apple mac. Thankfully
it wasn't too much of a problem and I fixed it quick enough. For me
editing is my favourite part of the process, as I can then make the
video exactly how i like and try my best to prefect it. It was in the
editing section where I added the the black and white noir effect. I also
added the scenes from the artists live show to sync in with the studio
version of the song, which was difficult but manageable and I think I
did it well.
Overall I think i created my video quite well and my work behind the
video was done to a good standard. If I was to change anything, I
would have stayed out and filmed a bit more to give me the
opportunity to have more in my video. But as i said i am happy with my
product and my pre-production.
