Unit 37 presentation

techniques
By Connor McCallion

My first presenter
Firstly I have chosen the BBC presenter Stephen
Nolan.

Stephen Nolan is best known for his morning

show Nolan on Radio Ulster and his BBC N.I
show on t.v also named Nolan.

Stephen mainly covers politics and community

and national problems throughout

Stephen Nolan
My opinion on Nolan is very mixed.
I like that he brings important topics, to the table but
on the other hand.

He stirs the pot between Unionist and Nationalist

parties on very sensitive topics.

I see this as cheap tabloid news, where everything is

exaggerated and blown out of proportion, and has
parties at each others throat.

Stephen uses his hands a lot in a sign of aggression

and this makes things seem very tense.

Stephan Nolan
Stephan is a straight to the point, cut interviewer.
She doesnt hold back on his questioning. By this I
mean, if someone doesnt answer a question. He
continues until the give me some sort of answer.

Hes also a crowd pleasing presenter, by this I mean he

interacts with the public and lets their voice be heard.

Stephan has a voice of authority in his shows, and this

lets especially radio listeners know whos in charge

Overall he is one of my favorite presenters

Second presenter
The second presenter is James Corden is an English actor and
t.v host.

James isnt only a host but also an award winning actor.

Last year he was given the job at the Late Late show in
America.

Previous James starred in the sitcom Gavin and Stacey and

also presents the comedy sport show A League of their Own.

When James jokes he uses his hands a lot, and uses his hands
when he is explaining something, but is opposite that Nolan
using his movements in aggression.

James Corden
James is a very humourous and light hearted t.v host.
James as I said, hosts LLS in America where he interviews
celebrities which is different as Nolan interviews politicians.

James is a lot more likable as a presenter and is much loved

by the public.

James also has a written script in most of the show but he

does free roam with his questions and jokes with celebrities.

James has a welcoming tone of voice and to listeners, it

sounds like james and his guests are having a conversation
rather than seeming like hes the leader.

Corden & Nolan

There are huge differences between these two
presenters.

Nolan is very aggressive in his approach as Cordon

has to be very welcoming and make his guests
comfortable.

Nolan would be sarcastic towards the politicians,

as James would be joking around his guests and
telling stories and making them laugh.

The both wear suits, but James has a relaxed stage

as Nolan seems very formal and proper
