Journal Week 3

This week was very sad being my last week. On Monday I taught 43 students (3/
4 T and 3/ 4 M) a mapping lesson, this involved team teaching with Craig
McLean. It was anxious as I was teaching in front of Craig, Eliza and Belle (the
other student teacher), although I was nervous I believe I gave direct instructions
and provided and interesting, challenging activity for the students to participate
in. When I was in the staff room at recess, Ange warns all the staff about a
possible lock down. This was a warning because a student in 3/ 4 Ns father was
coming to the school, who is an ICE addict, this lock down was a prerequisite
measure, locking doors, curtains down, students under table. I was able to meet
some of the students family members, as 3/ 4 T had a monument presentation.
The students were very excited to show their family members what they have
been creating and their power-point presentations they created. The students
wrote their own evaluation and presented this to the families, Tara and I did not
correct any work as we wanted the students to have ownership of their work. We
had a class surprise party on the Thursday to say goodbye, the students
surprised me with presents and cards. It was beautiful and I will miss them. On
the Friday I had to approach Pat as he was upset he informed me of situations
that were happening which I had to deal with along with a student breaking his
arm at recess.
