MISSIONARY SUPPORT SHOW 2005
When I was 6 years old, my parents had decided to raise support for our mission by going to the united states and gaining support. At the time it was me and my older sister going from school to church to individual families. There we helped my Father raise support by doing a cultural Merengue dance in order to give our audience a taste of our culture. It shows initiative because it was a big thing for a kid my age at that time to dance in front of a large group of strangers.
ART CLASS 2007
In 2007 I joined part of an art class led by a local artist . I learned many things like drawing and painting. This was truly a form of initiative for me because the artist did not accept students my age at his art school. At that time I was 8 years old and the artist only accepted people the age of 10 and up, it was due to dedication and fascination of art, and the help of my father that I was able to go there.
3 DAY CLUBS 2008
At the age of 9 , my parents made me part of the 3 day clubs. The 3 day clubs were evangelistic clubs in which missionaries such as my dad would go into churches and poor neighborhoods to preach the word of God to children. In most of these clubs there were groups of Americans that came each week to help, and my job was to translate for these Americans in order for them to communicate with the children. This displays initiative because at age 9 I was using my gift of being bilingual to help our mission.
ART EXHIBIT 2009
In 2009 at age 10 I had my artwork put on an exhibit of all of the students of the art class. This was very important to me because in it I displayed my first paintings, another exciting factor of this is that I remember a senator of our province coming to the art show and congratulating me for my work, here I demonstrate initiative by presenting my work on exhibit.
HIKING SPIRIT MOUNTAIN 2013
In 2013, with my classmates, I hiked up spirit mountain and camped in the mountain for 3 days. This was a new experience for me that required a lot perseverance because I had no experience with camping or outdoor activities as such. It was a unique experience that I was able to appreciate because I took the initiative to climb it fast and at least succeed in the mountain.
MY TRIP TO THE UNITED STATES 2014
Even though I had been to the United States many times before this time was specifically important to me, and it did take a lot of initiative for me to go through with it. It was more difficult because I hadnt been to the United States in such a long time, and all the people I had known there I had completely forgotten. But it became very special and I experienced things that would make the trip memorable and worth going through.
GOING TO PUBLIC SCHOOL IN THE U.S. 2015
This was the first look I received at public school in the united states. It was a completely new experience for me that took a lot of initiative for me due to the fact that this was the first time that I visited the U.S. without the rest of my family. It also took perseverance due to the fact that I went to a completely new school and from there created my own legacy completely unelated to my family.
GETTING A JOB AT MCDONALDS 2015
Along with public school education in the U.S. I also received a job at McDonalds. This took initiative because it was my first job, and on top of being in a different country, and a different school, and living with different people, this was very hard. But I eventually learned all how to work well and maintain a good work ethic.
GOING TO PROM 2015
This was the most unique thing that I chose to do in the United States. In the shot time that I was in the U.S. I found someone to go to prom with and had a great time, for the most part. It took a lot of initiative for me due to the fact that I had never invited a girl to something like this and it was very exciting. Unfortunately though, in the middle of the after prom I broke 3 bones in my leg and had to be taken to the hospital in a paramedic van.
BEING A MATH TUTOR 2016
Due to the fact that I am a senior in high school, I had to complete a number of work hours. I spent these work hours on teaching a 4rth grade student how to multiply and divide. My progress with him has been very positive I believe. I say this because originally he was failing the class, and now it seems as though he might pass on to 5th grade.
T-SHIRT BUSINESS 2016
All seniors attend a business class in which we create a business and use it to bring in revenue. For this I had to become an entrepreneur in order to have the drive to succeed at this. As of yet we have designed products to cell and found the right prices for them and hope to achieve a lot with, especially a good grade.
MISSIONARY GROUP 2016
This final activity that required initiative from me is still in the process of happening, yet I am very hopeful about it. Essentially it is a group that me and fellow missionary kids have decided to support, the big thing about this project is that we have been working on uniting ourselves with the Jehovah Witness missionary kids. This is on order to create a group that supports each other and is created on the soul basis that we are all missionary kids and that we can support each other.
FOR THE FUTURE
I intend to in the future organize the t-shirt business better and to truly make the missionary kid group achieve greatness. I have no other ideas in the making but I am going to college in the United States and I will see where that journey shall take me.
