how it began
The southern-based rebel groups response to the
forces of the government of Northern Sudans
campaign against the SPLA changed the lives of
boys and young men.

Before the war

Boys in southern Sudan were generally quite mobile
Grouped with other boys their age, they were sent away to
work.
Sent away from home for a time to the city for education.
During stressed times the boys were sent away from for
better resources.

During the war

They were driven out of Sudan because of the war
to escape.
Half of the boys died before reaching Kakuma
refugee camp in Kenya.

made a move called
