Subject of lesson: finding multiples____ Date _April 18th_Time_1:503:00__________
1. What were the goals and objectives of the lesson? How did you
know what they were?
The goal was to find the greatest common factor and practice finding
multiples of a number
2. How did the teacher begin the lesson? (Review of previous
material, motivational activity, etc.) Explain.
She reviewed what they did the night before and reviewed their
homework from the night before
3. Describe the activities used in the lesson in order.
The first thin Mrs. Katania did was review the worksheet that was for
homework the night before then she had all of the kids pull out their
math journals that they had made at the beginning of the year that
had all of the notes they would need for the year in it. And they did
examples on the ducane. After that she had them do another
worksheet.
4. Describe the teachers use of time. (How much time was used
for each part of the lesson?)
She spent about 10 minutes reviewing, 20 minutes teaching the lesson
and then had the kids practice for about 30 minutes.
5. Describe the teachers classroom management /discipline style.
She was pretty lenient and relaxed but when a kid got to rowdy she
would put them back in line.
6. How does this teacher encourage students to achieve?
She made the kids notes interactive and didnt really have to work that
hard to get her class ready to work and trying to do their best. They
asked questions when they needed.

7. What does this teacher do that is unique?

One thing this teacher does that is unique is she gives the kids journals
that have all of the notes in them for the year this is different because
kids usually take their own notes or use the book.
8. What ideas did you pick up on from observing this teacher that
you could use?
I think the idea to give a prepared notebook to the kids at the beginning of the year is a
great idea because then the kids are able to focus more on what they are learning and less
on writing everything down.
