We hereby inform you about the incident that happened last April 12, 2015.
During my sign on, eight modules of the transmitter has been damaged. As I tried
to troubleshoot the problem, I managed to discover that the CENECO (Central
Negros Electric Cooperative) was supplying high single phase voltage instead of the
required three-phase voltage.
The day after the incident, CENECO conducted an online site testing and
found out that the transformer was defective due to the fact that it has been almost
20 years. It was also discovered that the connectors are corroded and the insulating
oil of the transformer has dried up. These cause the inefficient performance of the
transformer thus, supplying unstable voltage to the transmitter.
