Gist of the story


The CEO of Winwood Performance Plus asked the HR
Manager to create a company-wide program on
controlling paper waste.
HR Manager is expected to set goals and develop plans
for this program.

Goal setting
Winwood Performance Plus will reduce paper consumption
by 15 percent by December 31, 2016, by 20 percent by
December 31, 2017, and by 25 percent by December 31,
2018.
This paper reduction program will help Winwood
Performance Plus to reduce costs, increase work efficiency,
and become more environmentally responsible.

Plan development
1. Develop strategies that will fit with the organization
Set computer default to print double-sided
Only purchase copiers and printers that will do double-sided
copying and printing

Use e-mail to exchange documents and memos instead of printing


or faxing

Use electronic data storage instead of hard copy files


Reuse single-sided paper, envelope, and file folder
