I. Problem: Choose a number and divide by 5. Then subtract the result by 154 and the answer should be = 6.
Solution: 800/5 = 160 154
=6

II. Problem: Edryl finished 2/3 of the book, she calculated that she finished 90 more pages than she is yet read. How
long is the book.
Solution: 2/3y = 1/3y + 90
2/3y 1/3y = 90
(3) 1/3y = 90 (3)
Y = 270
= 270

III. Problem: Mary, Peter and Lucy were picking chestnuts. Mary picked twice as much chestnuts as Peter and Lucy
picked 2kg more than Peter. Together the 3 of them picked 26kg of chestnuts. How many did each of them pick?
Solution: 12 + 6 + 8
= 26
