    A numbness has overcome my senses


    Chained to a vision I thought was real
    Now has left a scar that hangs in the air
    Biting me with its coldness
    I did not anticipate this wretched moment
    When I would find those magical words
    So full of trivial promises
    And I wonder why you gave the shattering blow
    Precisely after our moment of intense glow
    Flaring from your eyes that pierced my heart
    You held me tighter than you ever had
    Knowing perfectly well you would say farewell
