Specific massage techniques and tx for the Cervical

Spine.
- Anatomy and skeletal structure of the cervical spine. (Palpation and location of
specific C-spine mm's)
- Biomechanics of the cervical spine.
- Specialized testing, contraindications, specific massage therapy treatments.
- Pathologies, common cervical injuries and the dysfunctions.
- Somatic emotional and muscle memory of the cervical spine.
- Remedial exercises for stretching and strengthening c-spine conditions.
- Practitioner postural and preventive handling.
Prerequisites:
An active member of health care association or a massage therapist belonging to
association.

Duration: Three Day Course

Objectives:
Geared towards practicing massage therapists or other healthcare professionals
who are in contact with clients suffering of acute, subacute, or chronic cervical spine
dysfunctions and injuries.

This course focuses on refreshing physical anatomy of the cervical spine in depth
and common cervical spine injuries, dysfunctions and conditions.

This continuing education will present practitioners with an outreach clinic and
better means to define their clinical findings and offer clinical impressions and will
provide accurate SOAP charts to communicate to other healthcare professionals and
insurance companies in a clinical setting. It will also increase communication skills;
boundary setting with clients; and personal care for the therapist.
By reviewing specific orthopedic testing, the health practitioner will acquire deeper
knowledge of the possible underlying causes of the cervical spine dysfunction; learn
specific and complete massage treatments including integrated remedial exercise
and postural techniques to improve the client's well-being.
