Management of the immediate post operative open heart surgery patient.
Typical devices required to care for this patient population included ventilators, PA
catheters,Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), arterial lines,
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
(ECMO).
Extensive hemodynamic monitoring and titration of certain vasoactive drips was required.
Management of patients undergoing hypothermic protocol was also required.
Preceptor for newly hired staff.
