To Whom it May Concern,
I have worked with John Smith for the past three months in his classroom and it has come
to my attention that he has fallen behind his peers in the subjects of reading and writing. He is a
very talented student who just needs some extra help. He has an IEP but perhaps it is not
specialized enough to meet his needs.
He has considerable stress when trying to read. I believe that he would benefit from
being pulled out to a quite environment to help him concentrate. I understand that to do so
would require another IEP meeting.
As you are aware, the Zero Reject portion of the IDEIA law requires that a child be given
a free education, regardless of disability or communicable disease. John needs immediate
assistance so that he can catch up with his peers. I would like his parents and teachers to get
together to discuss this further. I recommend that it happen as soon as possible. Thank you for
your time.
