FLUORESCENT

ADOLESCENCE
Emily Manning

Synopsis
Around 25% of 13-18 year olds suffer with an anxiety disorder and
approximately20%of teens experience depression. That means that statistically
speaking 5 people in this room suffer with anxiety and 4 with depression.
In this documentary, I interview teenagers who talk about their experiences with
these issues as well as other topics such as college, bullying and growing up.

Detailed outline
My documentary revolves around teenage mental health and adolescence. Featuring
teenagers, some with experience with anxiety and depression. They discus topics
such as college, bullying and hobbies. Through the documentary you will learn about
peoples experiences and opinions. As well as gaining knowledge through statistics.

Why my documentary is important

I think that my documentary is important as mental health disorders, particular
anxiety and depression are seen as a trend, not a real issue. I also think that these
mental health disorders are seen as normal and something everyone goes through,
but some people suffer with it more than others and can affect them more. So I have
tried to show that this is a real issue.
