Dalcroze Bibliography and Lesson Plan
Dalcroze methodology has many activities that are used to teach concepts of rhythm and
meter, rests, augmentation, diminution, intervals, sight singing, part singing, tonal memory, and
improvisation. Many of these activities include movement to help students discover music
through their bodies. Activities that move to the music teach articulation, phrasing, dynamics,
and forward thinking before such vocabulary is used. Dalcroze combines these activities with
real melodies and songs to give students context that can be applied to their every day life.
