MPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIE

BY LEWIS PHOENIX

FULL-TIME
What full time employment is when you have a
contract to work for full working hours. Most people
these days do have full-time jobs as you need to
work and the more you work the more money you
get and having a full time job does have a lot of
benefits.
-access to paid leave (personal carer's leave, holiday
etc.)
-a guarantee of regular and rostered weekly hours
that should not be altered without notice
-a guarantee of weekly earnings that allows for
budgeting and access to loans from financial
institutions
-access to minimum notice requirements for

Part time
A part time job is when you don`t work
full time hours and you aren`t there as
long as other people and they are seen as
part time if they are working for less than
30 hours. People may have part time jobs
if they have young children or they may
have two jobs sop both are part time.
Even though you are only working part
time compared to full time the labour
organisation convention 175 says that
you are to be treated no less favourably
than a full time worker.

Freelance
A freelancer is a person that will do
tasks for different employers and
they work for the person that offers
them more money. Freelancers can
work part-time and full-time as they
can work for other employers so they
aren`t an actual employer. There are
some freelancers that work for the
same employer for long periods of
time and these are known as
permalancers.
By being a freelancer you can have
the easiest chance of having a self
working job and is the fastest and
will cost the less top do so.

Shift work
Shift work is not the usual hours and
differ between night shifts or morning
shifts and rotating shifts. There are
loads of shift work that a lot of
companies rely on and need.
Shift work is hard for a lot of people
as it does sometimes cause strain and
also anxiety as they are times that
not a lot of other people usually work
at and should really be in bed.

Permanent
When you work permanently you are working full
time but in a contract that states a minimum of 36
hours a week. Most people are on a permanent
contract and companies do have to have them so
that they will always have workers there. An
advantage is
Financial security and this means that you will be
getting paid every month no question. A
disadvantage is work life balance and this is the fact
that you will be working very long hours and you
won`t be able to spend quality time with yours
family and friends.

Temporary
Temporary employment or as it is also
known as freelance and contract means
that you could be working for only even a
day up to even a year and the employer
gives you an ending date of when you will
finish working for them. There is
advantages for working a temporary job
like the fact that you can earn a bit of
extra money in a short time period.
However there are disadvantages like the
fact that you are not there all the time so
things such as holiday pay and sick leave
may not exist for a temporary worker.

Multi skilled
What multi skilled workers do is learn new skills
in a lot of areas of work by training. An
example of this is a labourer is on a building
site moving bricks and getting mortar etc. and
then he/she can learn from the brikies, the
joiner, Plummer, painter, plasterer even more
jobs. This is a great to learn way as you can
then have the opportunity to go to different
jobs and have skills for a lot of different jobs.

Voluntary
A lot of voluntary work is done within close
communities who want to help others who may
not have as much money or are having problems.
Voluntaries are very motivated people as you see
a lot of charity runs that people even train for and
volunteer to run to raise money for others. There
are long term volunteers that do get paid as they
are usually working for over a year but when
someone asks you to volunteer you do usually
expect no pay especially for short term voluntary
work.

Casual
Casual or as it is also known as irregular

Advantages

-A higher hourly pay rate than equivalent
full-Time or part-time employees.

Hourly paid
What hourly paid means is a worker that gets paid
every hour that they work and they are entitled to be
paid at least the minimum wage which changes
mostly every year and is different for what age you
are. The minimum wage is; 25 and over: 7.20 - 21
to 24: 6.70 - 18 to 20: 5.30 - under 18: 3.87 Apprentice: 3.30. they get paid for the hours that
they actually work for.

Piecework
What piece work is workers that get paid for
every piece of work that they day and they are
classed as doing output work. They are paid
either on a hourly pay that is minimum wage or
on fair rate so paid every bit of work that they do.
What piecework is stated as is any type of
employment where you are paid a fixed piece
rate for every piece of work that you do.

Personal
If you know someone personally that is
in a job that is similar to you then you
can have a better chance of getting
within that job. There is a saying that
its not what you know but who you
know. This is true in many cases and if
you know someone that is high up in
the field then you will certainly have a
good chance. Even if it is an interview
a small job, a temporary job, or even a
full time job you don`t know but it is
better that nout.

Networking
Networking is about how you approach
the company or employer on your work
like in meetings, pitches, interviews and
more. You have to be yourself but
respect them and be formal as you cant
be swearing and having normal
conisations about the football as you
need all of your focus and attention on
the customer or employer.

Word of mouth
Word of mouth or viva voce, is the passing of
information from person to person by oral
communication, which could be as simple as telling
someone the time of day. Storytelling is a common
form of word-of-mouth communication where one
person tells others a story about a real event or
something made up.

Internet
The internet is used everyday by millions of people
around the world and is one of the most common
things to use. The internet in it1s real term is a
global computer network providing a variety of
information and communication facilities, consisting
of interconnected networks using standardized
communication protocols. You can use the internet to
find pretty much anything and everything that you
want to know and is a very big help with finding jobs.
There are tones of websites that are there to help
you find a job like jobsearch.co.uk or CV library and
