HEAVILY INFESTED WITH HUNGRY & FIERCE CROCODILES

2 PLANKS
4.75 M.
LONG EACH

Scenario:
1. One of your members is being held captive in a castle.
Your group is to rescue him in the fastest possible time.
Otherwise, he will be beheaded.
2. The castle is sitting on an island surrounded by a moat
5 meters wide and is heavily infested with hungry and
fierce crocodiles.
3. The only way to access the island is with a drawbridge
--- and it has been raised to stop your rescue operation.
4. You have searched the area and found two planks,
each 4.75 meters long. These planks are the ONLY items
available to you.
5. Your task is to get to the island safely and rescue the
person being held captive.
6. The problem is, how are you going to cross the
crocodiles-infested moat? If you touch the water, you
can assume you have been eaten and your rescue
attempt has failed!

Discussion points:
1. How long did it take to come up with a solution?
2. Is this the only solution?
3. What was the process?
4. How may this apply to everyday situations?
